Activate Your NetID (Students Only)
Note: This services is for Students Only. Faculty and Staff should contact their IT Admin Rep to have a NetID created for them.
This process was formerlly known as "GetID".
- Go to my.queensu.ca and click on the
Don't have a NetID? link located under the Log In section.
- The NetID Account Activation screen will open.
- Enter your Student Number
- Enter your Date of Birth
- Check the box beside I have read & accept the Computer User Code of Ethics
- Click the Continue button
- The Alternate Email Address screen will open
- Enter your Alternate Email Address:
- Re-Enter your Alternate Email Address:
- Click the Save & Continue button.
- Note: Students have an option to skip providing an alternate email address. However, if they skip this step they will not be able to use the Self Service Reset Tool if they forget their password later on.
- The NetID Challenge Questions screen will open
- Note: These questions are for self serve on this website only. You will NEVER be asked for your answers by email, by a person, or by telephone.
- Answer at least 3 of the Challenge Questions
- Click the Save & Continue button
- The Set Privacy Settings screen will open
- By default your information will not be published in Queen's Online Directory.
- If you would like your degree and/or program to be displayed uncheck the corresponding box.
- If you would like your Queen's email address to be displayed uncheck the corresponding box.
- By default your email address will be listed in the Queen's Globabl Address List (GAL). This list is only accessible by Queen's Faculty, Staff, and Students. If you would prefer not to have your email address listed in the GAL check this box.
- Click the Save & Continue button.
- The Set Your NetID Password screen will open
- Enter a password
- Re-enter your password to confirm it
- Click the Save Password & Continue button
- The Confirm Your NetID Profile Settings screen will open.
- Review the information you have provided
- Click the Activate NetID button
- Your NetID will be activated. Some services will be available immediately, other will take a little longer.
- For Security purposes, close your browser before leaving the computer.
