Browsers:  Changing and Removing Stored Passwords

Windows:

Internet Explorer (IE):

To view stored passwords the Command toolbar needs to be visible.  If your Command toolbar is not visible in the area beside the tabs right mouse click and select Command bar

  • Open the Tools menu.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Click Content.
  • Under AutoComplete, click Settings.
  • Click on Manage Passwords.
  • Click on the Web Credentials Manager.
  • Click on the drop down arrow by the web site you want to remove the password.
  • Click on Remove

 

Mozilla Firefox:

Note:  Firefox displays your stored passwords in a readable format.  Any saved passwords can be viewed by anyone using your computer and following these instructions.

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Options
  • Click the Security panel.
  • Click Saved Logins… and the Password Manager will open
  • Select the item to remove and click Remove or Remove All

 

Google Chrome:

  • In the upper right corner of your window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
  • Click Settings.
  • At the bottom of the page, click Show advanced settings.
  • Under Passwords and forms, click Manage passwords.
  • Under Saved passwords, hover over the site whose password you would like to remove.
  • Click the X that appears on the right.
  • Repeat for any other accounts you want to remove from the list.
  • In the bottom right corner of the screen, click Done.

Mac OS X:

Safari:

  • Click Safari menu and select Preferences
  • Select the Passwords tab
  • Select the item to be deleted and click Remove
