Learning made easy with lynda.com

Offering thousands of online tutorials, lynda.com is now available to the Queen's community! lynda.com, a great new training website, offers just-in-time learning. This means that users can fit training and skill development in any time, anywhere, to suit their needs and schedules. With the tutorials available in easy to navigate chapters, users can watch a single five-minute video on a specific task or a full series on a whole topic. Many of the tutorials even offer a hands-on experience, allowing students to practice techniques in the exercise files provided. Users can even learn on the go with free apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices. 

The popular training website for software, technology, business and creative skills offers 3,474 courses and 256,000 video tutorials on hundreds of topics that can help you acquire new skills and stay current in a world of ever-changing technology.

lynda.com is now available to all staff, faculty and students at Queen's as part of a three-year pilot project sponsored by ITS, Human Resources, Queen's School of Business, the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and the Library.

Taught by industry experts, the tutorials are designed for all levels of learners. lynda.com offers a wide variety of tutorial topics including, but not limited to:

  • Productivity training such as learning the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Time management skills
  • Business leadership and strategic planning
  • Design techniques and digital publishing fundamentals
  • Web software and development
