Queen's network will be unavailable Sunday, October 29 from 6 am - 12 pm.

The outage is a result of a border router upgrade and is part of a continued effort to strengthen Queen's network availability, resilience and performance.

What does this mean for me?

During the upgrade period, the internet on both wireless and wired networks throughout campus will be intermittently available. The internet is expected to be up through parts of the outage, but is expected to lose connection to the internet in 15-minute intervals.

You will be unable to access Queen’s resources such as VPN, my.queensu.ca and Single Sign-On services, during these intermittent 15 minute outages.

If you are on campus, your devices will however be able to access local network drives and websites hosted on Queen’s campus.

Is this a campus-wide outage?

Yes, all campus buildings will be affected by this outage.

What if I am still having issues connecting after the upgrade period?

If you are still experiencing problems connecting to the network after the upgrade has been completed, please contact the IT Support Centre at (613)533-6666 or by filling out the Online Help Form at queensu.ca/its/helpform.
