Configure Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 to Connect to Eduroam

  1. From the Windows 8.1 Start screen or the Desktop
    • Locate the Wireless icon in the task bar (bottom right corner)
    • Click on the Wireless icon

  2. A list of connections will be displayed
    • Select the Eduroam connection

  3. The Eduroam connection screen will open
    • Enter your email address (Note:  this must be your NetID@queensu.ca email address, not the alias your.name@queensu.ca
    • Enter your NetID password
    • Click the OK button
    • Note:  if you do not get the prompt to enter your Queen's email and password, please right click on the Eduroam connection and select Forget network.  The next time you try and connect it should prompt you for your credentials.

  4. You may receive a message asking if it is ok to continue connecting
    • Click Connect

  5. The Networks screen should be displayed
    • Eduroam is now connected

  6. If credentials have been "saved" and your computer automatically logs in without prompting your to entering your NetID and Password you may have to "forget" your credentials before you can log in successfully.  For example, if you change your password. 
    • Open Networks
    • right mouse click on the network you are trying to log on to
    • From the flyout menu select Forget this network

Disconnect / Log out

  1. Don't forget to log out of the network when you have finished using it.
    • Right mouse click the wireless icon
    • select disconnect
