Maple Installation Tutorial

Maple is the essential technical computing software for today's engineers, mathematicians, and scientists. Download
  1. Log into  MyQueen'sU
    • Click on the Software Centre tab

  2. Locate Maple in the list of software
    • Select the appropriate Maple_2016.iso file for your computer
    • Click the filename to start the download
    • Note:  the Maple 2016 Standalone Key is also included in the MyQueen'sU.  You will need this key so write it down

Install
  1. Navigate to the location of the .iso file
    • Windows 10 or Windows 8.1
      • Right mouse click the .iso file and select Mount
    • Windows 7
      • Locate the .iso file
      • Right mouse click and select burn to create a CD

  2. Open the Maple2016 folder
    • The available operating systems are Linux, MacOSX, and Windows
    • Open the Windows folder
    • select the installer that matches your operating system:  X64 Installer for 64 bit computers and X86 for 32 bit computers
    • Double click the Installer file to being the installation

  3. The Maple Setup wizard will open
    • Click the Next button

  4. The License Agreement screen will open
    • Select I accept the agreement
    • Click the Next button

  5. The Installation Directory screen will open
    • The default installation directory is shown.  If you would like to change where Maple will be install click the folder icon and navigate to the new location
    • Click the Next button

  6. The Install Desktop Shortcut screen will open
    • Choose whether to have a shortcut on your desktop. Select Yes or No, depending on your personal choice,
    • Click the Next button

  7. The Choose the Type of License screen will open
    • Check the box beside Single User License
    • Click the Next button

  8. The Check for Updates screen will open
    • Check the box beside Enable periodic checking for Maple 2016 updates after installation
    • Check the box beside Check for updates now
    • Click the Next button

  9. The Pre-Installation Summary screen will open
    • Review the choices you have made
    • To make changes, click the Back button
    • Click the Next button

  10. The Maple 2016 Installation will begin
    • Note that the screen has information about training and User Manuals

  11. During the installation Microsoft Visual C++ will be installed
    • This is part of the Maple installation and when complete, the Maple installation will continue

  12. The Completing the Maple Setup Wizard screen will open
    • The setup has finished
    • Check the box beside Activate Maple 2016 now
    • Note:  you will need the activation key that is on MyQueen'sU
    • Click the Finish button

Activate
  1. The Maplesoft Activation screen opens
    • In the Purchase Code field enter the Key that is listed on MyQueen'sU
    • Click the Next button

  2. The Maplesoft Activation screen will be updated with field for your personal information
    • Fields in red are mandatory.
    • The checkboxes at the bottom are for email lists.  Select all, some, or none of the lists.
    • Click the Next button

  3. The Activation successful! screen will open
    • Click the OK button
    • Maple is ready to use
