Q. The Macintosh install of Lync is not working. What should I do?

If Lync for Mac is not working, please complete the following steps:

  1. Confirm all updates have been applied for Microsoft Lync
    • Open Lync
    • Click on Help
    • Select Check for Updates
  2. Complete a manual configuration of Lync for Mac:

  3. If Lync is still not working, apply the following hot fix.

  4. The hot fix addresses the following: issue: 2884055 "Cannot connect to the call" error when you make a call in the 14.0.5 version of Lync for Mac 2011. After installation, you should be using Version 14.0.5 (130924).

Lync 2013 has a bug in which the domain credentials are the only credentials being passed to the Lync Server. A workaround does exist, but you will need to speak to your department's domain administrator for a resolution that they support.
