Office Apps for Mobile Devices from Office 365

Office Mobile apps have the familiar look and feel of Office with an intuitive touch experience designed for your mobile device and tablet.

The following sections cover information on Office mobile app availability and installation on mobile devices and tablets.  Apps for supported iOS, Android, and Windows devices are also available directly from the App Store, Play Store, and Windows Store, respectively. 

Available apps for each device

Office apps are available for the following mobile devices and tablets

Android Phone

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Lync, and Delve are available for download

Android tablet

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, and Delve are available for download

iPhone

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Lync, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Power BI, Sway, and Delve are available for download

iPad

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Lync, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Power BI, Sway, and Delve are available for download

Windows Phone

  • Lync and SharePoint are available for download
  • Office Mobile, OneNote, and Outlook are already available on your windows phone

Windows 10 Mobile

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail and Calendar, OneNote, and Skype for Business are available for download

Windows tablet

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail and Calendar, OneNote, and Skype for Business are available for download

Download apps from Office 365

All users, including those whose email and calendar accounts have remained on-premise, should follow these instructions

  1. Log into the Office 365 Software Portal at https://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx
    • Enter your Queen's NetID@queensu.ca email address. (Note: Do not use your email alias here. It will only work for your NetID@queensu.ca email address)
    • Click the Next button

  1. The Queen's Office 365 login page will open
    • Enter your NetID Password
    • Click the Sign In button

  1. The Software tab will open
    • Select Phone & tablet from the left navigation menu
    • From here you can select your mobile device or tablet from the list (Android phone will be used as an example for the next steps)

  1. The Android Phone screen will open (or your chosen device)
    • You will be shown what apps are available for your device
    • Click the Get app button
    • To access email without the apps, click the "Learn more" link

  1. The Microsoft apps page for your device will open
    • Enter your phone number or email
    • Click the Send button
    • Note: Microsoft will use your phone number or email only for this one-time transactional purpose, the information won't be stored. Standard SMS rates may apply.

  1. Microsoft will send a link to download the apps to your device or email
    • Open the message or email and select the link
    • You will be redirected to download the apps from your device’s store
