Mapping a Network Drive in Windows 8

This tutorial is intended to provide users another method to connect to QShare.  Collaboration Tools, including Versioning, Logging and Subscriptions may not be reliable when QShare is accessed via a mapped drive.  If these are important to you, please use the web interface or speak to your department QShare Administrator to obtain Xythos Drive, which is available to group account members.

When a Drive is mapped it will be accessible from the This PC screen in the Network locations.  You will be able to browse through the networked drive and open files.  When using a program such a MS Word you will be able to browse the mapped location the same way you can browse your hard drive.  You will be able to save files directly to the mapped drive.
