Queen's UniversitySecure Hard Drive Data Deletion
When used computers or hard drives are repurposed within a department or through donation or sale, it is important to ensure that the data on those drives has been securely deleted. Secure data deletion is possible through a process known as "disk scrubbing," which can be achieved through both hardware and software means. ITServices offers a hardware disk scrubbing service. Degaussing is not an option in this situation as it renders the drive unusable.
