Only currently enrolled students can use Office 365 ProPlus. This includes graduate students, continuing education and non-credit students. Once a student leaves Queen's, their licence is removed immediately. The exception is when a student graduates, they will have access to Office 365 ProPlus for one year after graduation. If they do not return to Queen's, their licence will be removed.
That means that alumni are not eligible. Only those who have graduated from Queen's in the previous year can keep the service. This allows them time to back up or move their data somewhere else. Or, if they decide to pursue postgraduate studies at Queen’s, they will be able to continue using it.
Faculty and staff are not licenced for Office 365 ProPlus. Instead, they can use Office 2010 or 2013 Professional at no charge. The software can be downloaded from the Software Centre in MyQueensU. (See the Microsoft Licensing Agreement for more details.)
Office 365 ProPlus is a subscription license. Please select "Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription." Enter your firstname.lastname@example.org email address and password to activate Office.
Return to the Microsoft Portal and sign in using your email@example.com email address. Go to the Settings menu and select Office 365 Settings. Select the Software tab. At the top of the screen, you will see the installations of Office 365 ProPlus that you currently have. Beside each entry is a deactivate button. Click the button to deactivate. Note: To complete the process, you will need to delete the software from your computer/device.
If you have already installed the latest version of Office with Office 365 on five computers that you use, and you want to install office on a sixth computer, you must first deactivate an installation on one of your current computers. Go to Software > Office. Click Deactivate next to the computer you want to deactivate the installation from.

Yes. There is an option to install the previous version of Office for both the PC and Mac. Look for the link on the Software page, just below the Install button.
OneDrive Pro is not available at this time with your Queen’s Office 365 ProPlus subscription. You can, of course, save and retrieve files to local disks.
If you are using a mobile device that does not allow you to save files locally, you will be limited to only viewing documents using Office Mobile. Please do not create personal OneDrive accounts using your @queensu.ca email address to avoid future confusion. Until a Queen’s OneDrive Pro account is available, a personal OneDrive account can be used to save files that are created or modified on your mobile device.
The accounts are unique. To avoid confusion, users can modify their Microsoft account to an alternate email address. Instructions on how to do this are provided on this page on the Microsoft website.
Queen’s does not provide support for use of personal OneDrive. Microsoft provides online documentation to assist users with personal OneDrive.
In the future, when Queen’s OneDrive Pro is provisioned, you will access OneDrive Pro at http://login.microsoftonline.com, and your personal OneDrive at http://live.com and/or http://skydrive.com. From within Microsoft applications that support OneDrive, users are prompted for which OneDrive account to access.
On a mobile device, OneNote requires access to an account with OneDrive and may not run until access is granted. At this time your queensu.ca account is not provisioned for OneDrive and the login will fail. You can login using a personal Microsoft account or you can wait until Queen's enables OneDrive at a later date to be determined.
