Description:  Packman (Package Manager) retrieves, installs, configures, and updates a suite of PC applications in wide use at Queen's. When Packman installs a package it automates the process as much as possible. Ideally you confirm the installation and do nothing else until the job is finished. Expert users (or the merely paranoid) can demand more control over the process.

Note:

• Packman is not supported on Windows Vista or Windows 7. The replacement for Packman, Ida, is supported on XP and Vista (and mostly works on Windows 7).  Ida has newer versions of most software that has been distributed by Packman. 
• Packman will not install Symantec's anti-virus software - use Ida

• select the Trouble Report in the Packman LaunchPad
• send e-mail to packman at queensu.ca (replace at with the @ sign)
