SPSS Licensing for 2012-2013

ITServices negotiates and oversees a number of license agreements for software products that are used at the University. These license agreements enable ITServices to distribute software within the University at a greatly reduced cost compared to single copies of the same software. Many of these agreements must be renewed annually, and the terms and conditions may change at renewal time.

Changes for 2012-13 SPSS Licensing

SPSS Statistics 21.0 is the new version we are distributing.

Reminder: SPSS single user licenses are licensed to the computer, NOT the licensee. This means that if your hard-drive or your computer is replaced, a new license will have to be obtained. Contact the ITServices main office if this situation arises.

The license agreement between Queen’s University and SPSS Inc. authorizes ITServices to distribute SPSS software products to faculty, and staff only. SPSS software acquired through this agreement may only be installed on computers owned and/or controlled by Queen’s University. Departments may obtain SPSS licenses to install on computers that are provided by the department for student use.
