ITS offers hands-on workshops, drop-in sessionsone-on-one appointments and tutorials to Queen's students, faculty and staff who are using the WebPublish content management system. If you would like to arrange training or a demonstration for your group, please email WebPublish Administrator.

Introduction to WebPublish (Part 1)

Details

This introductory workshop offers you the opportunity to learn the basics of WebPublish, using a training website to participate in exercises.  Topics to be covered include: creating and editing a page, making pages live, uploading assets, such as images and PDFs, aliases, effective use of support mechanisms in place, and accessibility roles and responsibilities.

 

Intended Audience:

  • For any individual(s) who are new to WebPublish

  • None

Introduction to WebPublish (Part 2)

Details

This workshop builds on the skills acquired in the Introduction to WebPublish (Part 1) and introduces more advanced features in WebPublish.  Topics to be covered include: basic concepts in HTML, aliases, site enhancements such as regions and blocks, slideshows, and collapsible content, basic administrative functions including adding users to the publication and assigning permissions, effective use of support mechanisms in place, and accessibility roles and responsibilities.

 

Intended Audience:

  • For users who have completed 'Introduction to WebPublish (Part 1)'

Prerequisites:

  • You must have completed Introduction to WebPublish (Part 1) or have been an active user in WebPublish for at least six months to attend this training.

WebPublish Drop-ins

Details
Have questions about your WebPublish site or service? Having trouble getting started? Want technical help nearby while you work on your site? Come visit us at one of our WebPublish drop-in sessions. No formal material will be presented, so be sure to bring your work and questions!

Location: 

  • Mackintosh-Corry Hall, B176 Computer Lab

The lab is located in the basement of Mackintosh-Corry Hall. To get to it, go down the stairs located across from the cafeteria, just outside the Centre for Teaching and Learning. Once you've entered through the first set of doors at the bottom of the staircase, turn left to go through the main doors of B176. Inside, you'll turn right down the corridor until you find the B133 Computer Lab on your right.
