Create a Menu Tab That Does Not Have A Page Associated With It

Site Administrators can create a menu tab that does not have a page associated with it.

Editors, Publishers and Site Administrators can also create a menu tab using the Create a Page process.  This process  creates a page that is part of the menu tab.  This page could be used for a description or an index to subpages.  

  1. From the Management menu select Structure
    • Click Menus

  2. The Menus screen will open
    • From Main menu click on list links

  3. The Main menu will open
    • Click the Add link button

  4. The Menu link screen will open 
    • In the Menu link title field enter the name of your menu tab
    • In the Path field enter < front >
    • In the Description field enter a description that will be visible when the tab is moused over (optional)
    • From the Parent link drop down menu select    Main menu
    • Click the Save button

    • The Main menu screen will re-open
      • The new tab is now listed at the end of the list.  This can be moved to another location by clicking and holding the crosshairs and dragging to the new location.
      • At the top of the screen is the message Your configuration has been saved.
      • Click the Home button

    • The Home page will open
      • The new tab is now listed on the menu bar.
      • Child pages can now be nested beneath the new menu tab
