The trend toward externally hosted email solutions for students in Canadian higher ed has been evident for some time. Institutions that went with Microsoft are currently using Live@edu; this product is being phased out in favour of Office 365, which was released in 2012. Queen's will have the advantage of being one of the first universities in Canada to roll out this new and improved email service for higher education.
