Dining Halls & Eateries
With three dining halls and 16 retail food outlets on campus, Queen's hospitality services has something for everyone.
All eateries on campus offer vegetarian choices, other alternative diet selections, and a variety of healthy options to accommodate the diversity of student needs.
Dining Halls & Meal Plans
Located within three of Queen's residences, Ban Righ, Leonard, and Jean Royce Dining Halls welcome both students and visitors.
There are a number of meal plan options (included within your residence fees) to accommodate different types of eaters — some offer more regular meals in the dining halls, while others give you more “flex” dollars to spend at our retail outlets. Either way, you’ll have the chance to test-drive your plan for the first month to make sure you find the one that’s right for you!
Students not living in residence can also purchase a meal plan — at any time!
Alternative Diets
We’re pleased to offer a number of services designed to help students with special dietary requirements. Whether it’s for a special diet, allergies, or for religious observances, we can help meet your dietary needs.
If you have specific food requirements, we encourage you to meet with one of our Hospitality Services Managers upon your arrival to campus. Should you wish to discuss your concerns prior to your arrival, contact the Hospitality Services office by e-mail or call 613-533-2953.

Food Off Campus
It is said that Kingston has the most restaurants per capita of anywhere in Canada, many of which are in the downtown core. The blue pins in the image below show some (not all!) approximate dining/food locations within easy walking distance of campus. Find more details on the Downtown Kingston Dine page...

If you have a craving for a good home-cooked meal, there are several places to buy groceries within walking distance of campus, and a few others a short bike/bus/car-ride away.
During the fall and winter terms, on Tuesday nights between 5 and 8:30 pm, Loblaws at the Kingston Centre offers a free shuttle service to and from campus. Call the store at 613-530-3861 or pick up a flyer in-store for pick-up times and locations.
