Queen's University

Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures

Katie Wootton (MED in English Language and Literature
and History) went to Waseda University (Japan) on a
student exchange.

Queen's has more than 80 exchange destinations available in more than 20 different countries, including Argentina, Australia, Chile, China, Cuba, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the West Indies.

Most of the exchange partners feature English as the language of instruction, although immersion in host country languages is often available.

Students are eligible to spend one or two terms on exchange during third year, and must apply at the beginning of the Winter term of second year to be considered.

Please refer to the International Programs Office website for more information. You can also consult German program website for specific study abroad opportunities in Germany and Spanish and Italian programs website for exchanges in Spanish-speaking countries and in Italy.

In my third year I was chosen as the first Queen's representative at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. It was easily the most exciting year of my life. There was such a wide range of courses offered, and I was able to get an entirely new perspective on my majors, English and History.
