The following articles are from the 2011 School of Music Alumi newsletter:
Thanks to You....
The 2010-2011 academic year was filled with exciting performances, colloquia, master classes, visiting artists and lecturers, the successful Faculty Artist Series and our February Fundraiser “A Night on Broadway”. Areas of study continue to flourish, and we were thrilled to learn that Dr. Karen Frederickson was the recipient of the prestigious Frank Knox Teaching Award (article see page 4), a reinforcement of our combination of an excellent program with award winning teaching!
Your gifts continue to enhance the educational experience of our students whether through assisting us with courses, equipment upgrades, or performances. We are touched by your ongoing support, no matter the amount. Thank you for joining us in our commitment to continue to offer the exceptional music program that our students deserve.
Thank you to each of our individual donors who have supported our program over the years. We know that some of you were contacted by Queen’s students helping with the Queen’s “ThankQ Campaign”. Students are always excited to talk about the music program and are grateful for your support.
Thank you to our “Friends” and “Corporate Sponsors” for supporting “A Night on Broadway” and thank you to those who bought tickets and came to the show! The tremendous success of this event could not have happened without you! In February 2012 we will once again present “A Night In Vienna” for your enjoyment - - if you can, we hope you’ll join us in person. Or, maybe you can tune in virtually. (Find out our more on page 4)
Thank you to our benefactors who have chosen to establish endowments, the income from which can support courses, scholarships, events and professorships for the School of Music in perpetuity.
Thank you to our Royal Legacy Society alumni who have chosen to make a gift to the School of Music through their Will.
Thanks to you, the School of Music continues to deliver an outstanding university experience, both in the classroom and on the stage. We continue to attract exemplary students and world-class faculty and performers. Thank you for making a difference through your generosity and support.
We are looking forward to more successes in the coming year as we prepare to welcome a brand new group of students and graduate our Class of 2012! You are welcome to contact the School of Music’s Director, Margaret Walker, if you have any questions or would like more information about our upcoming events.
