Adjunct Assistant Professor in Flute (Woodwind)
Donelda Gartshore is a graduate and former faculty member of McGill University. She has performed with the McGill Chamber Orchestra, CBC Montreal Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Les Grand Ballets Canadiens, on CBC Radio and Television, and in numerous solo and chamber recitals throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. In May of 1994 she was featured as a soloist in a three week tour of Spain and the Queen's University Orchestra.
Two most recent CBC Radio tapings include an October 1996 duo and Trio Recital with Dina Namer, piano and Nina Tobias, cello taped at the Glenn Gould Recital Hall in Toronto and a Trio Recital in the Amherst Island Concert Series, July 1997 with Dina Namer, piano and Wolf Tormann, cello.
In 1973, Ms. Gartshore was appointed Principal Flute with the Kingston Symphony, as well as Flute and Chamber Music Teacher at Queen's University, where she was subsequently appointed Assistant Professor. A CBC Young Performer's Prize and a Factor Recording Industry Award attest to her continued activity in solo, concerto and chamber music performance.
