Ms. Karma Tomm

Ms. Tomm maintains an active career as performing violinist, teacher, and music administrator.She has recently relocated to Kingston from Boston MA, where she taught violin, chamber music and music theory at Tufts University since 1997, and served as the Coordinator of Applied Music from 2001-2007. As a freelance artist, she has performed with diverse Boston area ensembles including Emmanuel Music, the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops, Musica Viva, Auros Group for New Music, and the Cantata Singers. She has toured North America, Europe and Asia, participating in festivals such as the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, Wiener Festwochen, and Mostly Mozart (NYC). Ms. Tomm has premiered many contemporary works, and has recorded on Koch International and Nonesuch. In 2006 she appeared on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman with members of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.

Ms. Tomm has served as Administrative Director of the Portland Chamber Music Festival (Portland, ME), the Music on the Hill Summer program (Belmont, MA), and the Indiana University Summer String Academy (Bloomington, IN).Her principal teachers include Bayla Keyes, Paul Biss, Mauricio Fuks, Lise Elson, David Baker.
