Ensure that you look at the page for the Consecutive B.Ed. when you choose your second teaching subject.  Only 18 units is required for a consecutive B.Ed. second teaching subject.

Take one of the MUSC 280s only if it does not conflict with a music core course. The 280s are new.  They provide you with more experience on a secondary instrument; however, the focus is on organizing teaching and materials in a high school setting.  If your major instrument is clarinet, you may seek permission to take MUSC 281* without taking MUSC 181*; if your major is trumpet, you may seek permission to take MUSC 283* without MUSC 183*.

You may take MUSC 270 Basic Conducting in Year 3, if you have taken two 180s series or one 180s series and enrol in a 280s series concurrently.  If you do not take MUSC 270 in the Year 3, plan to take it in Year 4.  It is essential for a music educator.

PSYC 100 requirement:

If you are in P/J consider taking the 3.0 Development Psychology course from Athabasca University in the spring or summer.  Be sure to obtain the Letter of Permission from F-200 before you take the course.

If you are in I/S consider taking PSYC 100 through Continuing and Distance Studies during the spring or summer.
