Choral ensemble experience for all students.

NOTE Placement is made at the discretion of the School of Music.

Open to non-B.Mus. students, after audition, without credit.

Audition information

Rehearsals will be held in Dupuis Auditorium on Tuesdays, 6.30-9.30 pm. There is a $40 music fee for non-B.Mus. students - be prepared to bring your music fee to the second rehearsal.

The costume for Choral Ensemble is:

  • Women: LONG black skirt or long pants (no jeans); black, long-sleeved blouse or top, not low cut; black, low-heeled shoes (no sports shoes); neutral colour or black stockings. No jewelry (small earrings excepted), NO PERFUME or other scented products.
  • Men: Black suit or tuxedo, white shirt (no ostentatious ruffles), black bow tie, black shoes (no sports shoes), black socks. NO SCENTED PRODUCTS.

    There are no exceptions to this costume.

Auditions will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, from 6.30-9.30 pm, HLH 213. Be prepared to sing O Canada or another piece of music from memory. Former members of Queen's Choral Ensemble intending to return, or former members of Polyhymnia desiring to sing with Queen's Choral Ensemble, should contact Dr. Sirett prior to the audition dates indicating your intention, including interest in singing in a small chamber choir. The first rehearsal will be Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011.
