Advanced supervised study in a specific area of musicology/ethnomusicology, music theory/analysis or music education. Regulations pertaining to the courses are available in the School of Music Office.
This course involves advanced academic study in a specific area of musicology/ethnomusicology, music theory/analysis or music education, under the supervision of a full-time faculty member of the School of Music. The course is not intended to remove deficiencies or to duplicate materials covered in other courses offered by the School of Music. To be eligible to apply students must have 4th-year standing, have completed all B.Mus. core courses (other than their required 0.5 credit in 20th-century studies), and have an overall 3rd-year music average of at least 80%.
Students should consult with their chosen advisor and, upon the advisor's agreement, complete the application form, available from the Music Main Office. The completed application must be submitted to the Chair of Undergraduate Studies no later than the first Friday of the first week of classes in the applicable term.
