Ensemble Auditions

The School of Music offers many ensembles for student participation. Membership in all ensembles is by audition. Both BMus and Non-B.Mus. students may participate for academic credit, following a successful audition. Additional fees may apply for non-credit participation, following a successful audition.

Ensembles are closed for preregistration (you cannot add them on SOLUS during the course selection period). Once the ensemble auditions have taken place in September, students whose auditions were successful will be able to register for ensembles on SOLUS, to a maximum of two.

There is a new audition format for Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra.  Specific excerpts have been chosen for each instrument to be played during the audition in September.  You can find the PDF file of excerpts for your instrument under Audition requirements below.

Please read all the instructions carefully.  No exception will be made; you all have to prepare that list.  If there is no excerpt for your instrument yet, return to the website regularly for an update.  If you have any questions, please contact your applied music instructor.  This new audition format will stream-line the audition process and will be a better way to ensure fair assessment for placement.
