Queen's University and the School of Music are dedicated to rewarding excellence with financial assistance.

The School of Music offers a total of 54 diverse and substantial sources of financial support in the form of scholarships, prizes, awards, bursary-awards and bursaries.

Scholarships (merit-based awards)

Returning students are automatically considered for most School of Music scholarships and prizes based on academic achievement, without having to make an application.

Only two music scholarships/prizes require separate applications.

• The George N. Maybee Memorial Scholarships in Music, for students whose instrument or area of interest and experience is respectively the organ or choral conducting should submit an application with letters of reference to the Chair of the Scholarships Committee, School of Music, Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario K7L 3N6 by 1 May.
• The Concerto/Aria Competition. This performance competition takes place early in the Winter term, with applications, available from the Music Main Office, usually due in early January.

Bursaries (need-based awards)

Returning students are strongly encouraged to apply for financial aid in the categories of bursary-awards and bursaries, which are granted on the basis of achievement and/or financial need. In order to be considered for these non-repayable grants, students should apply online  through Student Awards.
