Established in honour of Istvan Anhalt, LL.D (honoris causa, Queen's), Mus.D. (honoris causa, McGill), Professor Emeritus of Music, distinguished composer and teacher, and Head of the School of Music (1971-81). Awarded annually on the recommendation of the School of Music to a full-time student, who demonstrates excellence in electroacoustics (composition, research, performance, production).
