
Established by Marsha and Dr. Spruce Riordon in recognition of the outstanding academic achievements and far-reaching scholarly influence of their brother and brother-in-law, Christopher Lewis (Ph.D., Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester), renowned music theorist and gifted teacher until his untimely death in 1992. Awarded annually to a student in the third or fourth year of the Bachelor of Music or B.A. (Hons.) Music program for the best research paper in music theory or musicology.
