Appreciating Queen's dedicated staff
Many events and activities are planned for Staff Appreciation Day on Monday December 5.
Denise Bissonnette is sure to be one of the day's highlights. The author, trainer, and motivational speaker will give three talks throughout the day, all of which are open to all Queen's staff. Ms. Bissonnette's sessions are titled “Rekindle the Flame: Celebrating Your Gifts” (which she will deliver both morning and afternoon) and “Balancing Life and Work: Inspiring Change Where it's Needed.”
“Denise is a fabulous speaker, and I know she will resonate with people,” says Shannon Hill, Learning and Development Specialist, Human Resources. “We want the entire day to be a chance for Queen's staff to feel appreciated, indulge a little, and dedicate some time to their own personal well-being.”
“Rekindle the Flame” invites participants to gain perspective and understanding about their relationship to work. “Balancing Life and Work” examines motivation as it relates to making the necessary changes in order to achieve a sense of balance in life and work. Registration for the sessions is encouraged but not mandatory.
Staff Appreciation Day provides a chance to officially recognize the contributions that Queen's staff makes to the university community. The day will also include: the principal's reception and presentation of the Staff Recognition Awards in Grant Hall; free coffee, tea and hot chocolate for staff at university food outlets; and a Staff Appreciation Day draw, with fabulous prizes to be won.
