BFA enrolment suspended for 2012-13
The Faculty of Arts and Science is suspending admission and upper-year transfers to the Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) program for the 2012-2013 academic year based on an assessment of the faculty resources available to support the program.
Students currently enrolled in the program will be able to complete their degree and their studies will not be affected.
“The Faculty of Arts and Science remains committed to working with BFA faculty and students to explore curriculum models that will ensure the continuation of the study of fine arts at Queen’s,” says Alistair MacLean, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science.
This decision does not affect the Department of Art, the undergraduate and graduate Art History degree programs or the graduate Art Conservation program.
The Faculty will reassess the BFA program and its capacity next year in consultation with program faculty, staff and students.
It offers a comprehensive curriculum supported by five faculty members. There are approximately 30 students in each of the four years.
Students with questions can contact the Faculty of Arts and Science at deanartsci@queensu.ca.
