Contract talks continue with CUPE
2011-07-28
Queen’s University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) continue to meet in mediation this evening.
As of 12:01 am on Friday, July 29, the union will be in a legal strike position and the university will be in a legal lockout position.
“We remain focused on reaching a negotiated settlement,” says Provost and V-P (Academic) Bob Silverman. “That is the best outcome and the preferred outcome.”
Mediation has been underway since Tuesday and the talks could continue beyond the deadline.
Updates will be posted to the Queen’s News Centre, the Queen's Labour News blog and the Labour News Twitter feed @QUlabournews.
