Flags lowered for Professor Seward (Ted) Ralph Brown
Flags on campus were lowered in honour of Emeritus Professor Seward (Ted) Ralph Brown.
Professor Brown was born and raised in Nova Scotia and after five years of decorated military service in Europe during World War II, came to Kingston to study. He returned to Queen's after completing his doctorate at Yale University to accept a position as assistant professor and director of the Queen's University Biological Station. His research on fossil pigments in lake sediments is internationally recognized and relevant to such pressing environmental issues as lake management and climate change.
Cremation has taken place with interment in Nova Scotia. Memorial donations can be made to the South Frontenac Firefighters Association or the charity of your choice in memory of Dr. Brown.
