Grades entered electronically in new student administrative system
All final grades will be submitted electronically beginning this term using the PeopleSoft student administrative system.
“The paper-based system will be gone, significantly reducing the couriering of material between the Office of the University Registrar and departments,” says Andrew Ness, Associate University Registrar (Student Records and Services). “Electronic approvals will further reduce paper moving within offices on campus.”
Primary instructors or their designates can access grade rosters by logging into the PeopleSoft Faculty Centre. Once marks are submitted, the department head or chair will approve them before they are posted.
Another significant benefit of the new online system is that instructors can submit grades submission remotely. They can access the system at any time if they have a web connection and internet browser – the platform supports several different browsers.
The spreadsheet upload process in the new system has changed. Excel support is available to assist with the transition.
Training documents on entering grades using the PeopleSoft system have been sent directly to primary instructors and designates. Any faculty member or department requiring further assistance is encouraged to contact Mr. Ness at ext. 74053.
