Human Resources launches new lunchtime yoga series

Beginning in early February, Queen’s staff members looking for a relaxing lunch break can escape to Kingston Hall for a weekly series called Yoga for Managing Stress.

“The yoga sessions we’ve offered, in partnership with the Atheltics and Recreation Centre, have proven to be incredibly popular with staff from a variety of different departments and faculties,” says Shannon Hill, Learning and Development Specialist, Human Resources. “It’s important for staff to take some time for themselves during the day, and these sessions are a great way to do just that.”

Led by instructor Kirsteen MacLeod, Yoga for Managing Stress will help participants escape the pressures of the workday while learning how to calm and prevent stress, enhance their quality of life, and improve their overall health. Everyone, from the curious beginner to the experienced enthusiast, is invited to participate in the series; however, those interested must register through the HR website as space is limited.

The series builds on other popular yoga offerings, including the Yoga – Lunch Time Chair Series and Yoga: relax-o-rama.
