Invitation to preview Queen's Science Formal
The Queen's Science Formal takes place this weekend. Engineering students have worked tirelessly to create an amazing James Bond themed set and invite visitors to preview the results of their efforts on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Grant Hall from noon until 5 pm. Donations for the United Way will be accepted at the door.
The Science Formal at Queen's is listed as one of the top formal events in North America. Each member of the graduating engineering class who attends the event must first complete 40 hours of work to prepare the "set", involving long hours of construction, painting and assembly. Focal points of this year's design include a military style watchtower, a mock casino, and an airplane, as well as many James Bond themed rooms.
