Law professor to receive medal

Law professor Nick Bala will receive the Law Society Medal at a ceremony in Toronto on September 23. This award is the top honour of the Law Society of Upper Canada, and was established in 1985 to recognize outstanding Ontario lawyers whose service reflects the ideals of the profession.
Professor Bala was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982, and is a top Canadian authority on legal issues related to children. His work has helped to make the legal system and the professionals who work in it more sensitive to the needs of children and families in crisis. He has taught at Queen’s since 1980.
