Medical students thank workers with home-made lunch, smiles

Students Sabra Gibbens,Thurashen Jeyalingam, president of the medical school student government, and Ernest Ebert joined construction workers at the site of the new School of Medicine building recently for an appreciation lunch to thank the crews who have helped make the new facility a reality. More than 200 workers, 20 students, and members of the Queen’s project management team enjoyed sandwiches, soft drinks and home-baked desserts provided by the students.The $77-million building, to open officially in September, has been made possible through support from the Canada-Ontario Knowledge Infrastructure Program, and by gifts from alumni, friends, faculty and students.
