New agreement offers discounts on car rentals

By Mark Kerr, Senior Communications Officer

Enterprise and National are now the preferred car rental agencies for anyone who needs to rent a vehicle for Queen’s business.

“This new collaborative agreement through the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO) will result in cost savings for departments and units across campus,” says Eoin MacDonald, Director, Strategic Procurement Services. “Furthermore, the online reservation system makes it easy for people to rent a car at the discounted rate.”

Reservations made through the CAUBO portal will automatically load the discount as well as the terms and conditions. Online reservations require a credit card. If in-person or phone reservations are required, quote CD# XVC3029 to get the CAUBO rate.

The CAUBO rates are also valid for personal use. However, Queen’s faculty and staff renting the vehicle for personal use need to secure their own insurance. More information about the agreement is available on the Strategic Procurement Services website.

Strategic Procurement Services has also identified preferred suppliers for direct mailing/lettershop services and on-campus supply centres and biobars that offer researchers quick access to commonly used laboratory products.

The Queen’s community can learn a lot more about Queen’s preferred suppliers during the third annual Preferred Supplier Trade Show that will take place on June 26 in the BioSciences Atrium. The event offers people the opportunity to meet with customer service representatives and learn more about their products and services. More than 30 vendors attended last year’s show. More information about this year’s event will be distributed in the coming weeks.
