New labour news website launched
All labour relations-related news at Queen’s and frequently asked questions are now accessible on a new website at www.queensu.ca/labournews.
This site consolidates news and information about labour relations activities at the university.
“There are several processes underway and this site aims to provide timely updates and answer faculty, staff and student questions,” says Al Orth, Associate Vice-Principal (Human Resources). “We will be as thorough as possible, while respecting the collective bargaining process and the confidentiality of negotiations.”
The site draws in all the labour relations-related stories posted to the Queen’s News Centre — these are also included in the twice-weekly faculty/staff email bulletin, e-Queen’s, sent to all faculty and staff on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
The site also provides “posts” answering frequently asked questions in several categories, including active negotiations, contingency planning, labour relations processes, status updates, and settlements.
Comments and questions can be submitted through the site; these will be moderated. Questions may be answered through a post in the relevant category. In addition, subscriptions to all posts, comments and news stories are all available through RSS feeds. The site is also mobile-friendly.
