Queen's athletes sweep weekly awards —again!
For the second time this term, Queen's athletes have garnered recognition for both the men's and women's Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athlete of the Week awards in a single week. Brady Morrison (Men's Hockey) and Becky Conroy (Women's Hockey) received Athlete of the Week honours for Nov. 24 -30.
Mr. Morrison, a second-year goalie, made 48 saves leading the Gaels to an upset victory over the undefeated Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres Patriotes.
Ms. Conroy, a third-year forward with the Gaels, is the top scorer in the OUA with 12 goals. She also leads in total-points with 22 and sits third in game winning goals.
In September, Queen's students Dee Sterling and Jackie Byers were also named top male and female athletes of the week. Since 2006, Queen's is the only school to have earned this distinction twice.
