Delegates from across Ontario have gathered in Kingston for the Town Gown Association of Ontario's Annual Symposium.

“Queen's has worked collaboratively with our city and post-secondary partners to build relationships and develop town-gown strategies that will serve us all well in the future,” says Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Alan Harrison. “I look forward to sharing our experiences, and to hearing from others across the province about their own strategies and experiences.”

More than 100 representatives from municipalities, colleges, universities, student and neighbourhood associations from across the province are participating in the symposium to share best practices and learn how to improve town-gown relationships.

The theme for this year's symposium is Cities for People: Creative Town and Gown Communities. Presentations will be focused on working collaboratively to improve the quality of life in municipalities that host post-secondary institutions by promoting and supporting safe, healthy, and enjoyable activities.

The symposium is presented by Kingston's Town-Gown Strategic partners: City of Kingston, Queen's University, the Royal Military College of Canada, St. Lawrence College and the Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO).
