Queen's looks forward to continuing work with MPP
After a busy fall campaign period in which all parties placed a focus on post-secondary education, the voters of Kingston and the Islands have returned Queen’s alumnus and long-time elected official John Gerretsen to Queen’s Park.
“I congratulate John Gerretsen on his re-election to a fifth term as the MPP for Kingston and the Islands,” says Principal Daniel Woolf. “I look forward to continuing to work with him on issues that affect Queen’s, our students, our community, and the post-secondary education sector in Ontario.
“I would also like to congratulate the AMS and the SGPS on their impressive get-out-the-vote initiatives,” he adds. “I was impressed with the level of engagement on campus and I look forward to seeing this trend continue.”
Principal Woolf adds his thanks to all of the candidates who put their names forward in this election.
Queen’s works closely with the provincial government, the university’s largest funding partner, to ensure a strong and vibrant educational environment for our students, faculty, staff, and community.
