QUFA ratification vote scheduled
The Queen’s University Faculty Association (QUFA) will hold an information meeting and a ratification vote next week on the tentative agreement reached Monday with the university.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 24 in Dunning Hall auditorium between 1-2:30 pm and will be webcast.
An electronic ratification vote will begin at 3 pm Wednesday and run through to 3 pm on Saturday, August 27.
Details of the agreement will be released publicly after it is ratified by the union membership and the university’s Board of Trustees.
QUFA represents the university’s faculty, librarians and archivists.
Six collective agreements have been successfully negotiated at Queen’s this year.
In addition to the tentative agreement with QUFA, three agreements were reached earlier this month with the three campus locals of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). These agreements are subject to union ratification votes on Thursday August 18.
In June, the university and the Ontario Nurses Association ratified a first contract for the nurses in Queen’s Family Health Team, and in May, the university and the Public Service Alliance of Canada approved a first contract for graduate teaching assistants and teaching fellows.
