Faculty members from several departments at Queen’s recently participated in “Celebrate: Disability Research Day.” The networking event aimed to generate cross-project and cross-disciplinary dialogue about ongoing work in disability studies and provide a venue for new collaborations.

Co-hosts Amy Latimer-Cheung (Kinesiology and Health Studies) and Mary Ann McColl (Rehabilitation Therapy) invited 12 presenters from 10 different research projects to share their ideas, interests and experiences. Faculty members who didn’t present were invited to participate in the discussion.

Presenters gave brief overviews of their current research, followed by questions and general discussion. The event builds on last year’s brown bag lunchtime discussion of disability research at Queen’s by moving toward a more formal, but creative, collaborative framework.
