Student receives Rhodes Scholarship

Queen's University alumnus Nithum Thain has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University.
Mr. Thain has an honours degree in mathematics from Queen's and is now pursuing a PhD in mathematics at McGill University in Montreal. He applied for the Rhodes Scholarship through Queen’s and was endorsed by the university. He is one of only 11 students across Canada to receive the prestigious award to study at Oxford for three years starting this fall.
Mr. Thain, who graduated from Queen’s in 2006, is the 56th Queen’s student or graduate to earn the award.
