Sunday funeral for Habib Khan

First-year student Habib Khan, who died after a fall at Duncan McArthur Hall on Thursday night, will be buried tomorrow, Sunday December 5, after a service at a Brampton mosque.

Qur'an recitation begins at noon with funeral prayers following at 1:00 p.m. at Makki Masjid, which is located at 8450 Torbram Road.

The burial will then be held at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane Street in Concord at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Habib's family suggests donations could be made to a food bank or a charity of  choice

Also on Sunday, Habib's friends are asking that people wear a pencil behind their ear -- "his trademark" -- and wear black to honour him.

A campus memorial is being planned. Details will be posted to www.queensu.ca/news when they are finalized.
