University closed for holiday
Queen’s will be closed starting at 4:30 pm on Friday, December 23 through to 8:30 am on Tuesday, January 3.
To conserve energy, all departments should turn off all office lights, close windows and doors, and set thermostats no lower than 18 C or 65 F.
Campus Security will continue to be fully staffed throughout the annual shutdown and will respond to calls and emergencies 24 hours a day. As in previous years, Campus Security will conduct special patrols during daytime hours, in addition to its regular nightly patrols.
If staff and faculty observe suspicious activity while on campus during the shutdown period, they can contact the Emergency Report Centre at ext. 36111 (or [613] 533-6111 off campus), or by using any emergency or assistance phone.
The Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) will remain open with adjusted holiday hours and is offering a children’s sports camp January 3-6 and a one-day basketball/volleyball camp on January 3. For more details visit the website or contact Lisa Eyles by email or at ext. 77686.
Queen’s Hospitality Services has posted its holiday hours for campus food vendors and dining halls.
Happy holidays!
