University renews ties with Fudan during visit
A Queen’s delegation led by Principal Daniel Woolf has travelled to China for meetings with senior university administrators and a number of government officials, alumni and prospective students. A visit to Fudan University in Shanghai highlighted the first leg of the trip. Queen’s and Fudan, partners since 2000, renewed several agreements including visiting faculty exchanges, exchange of undergraduate and graduate students and the opportunity for a Global Development Studies semester in Shanghai. Queen’s became the first Canadian university to open an office in China in 2007.
The delegation also includes Vice-Principal (Research) Steven Liss, Vice-Provost (International) John Dixon, and Bruce Stanley, Executive Director, Bader International Study Centre.
Members of the Queen’s delegation are now visiting Jilin University in Changchun, which is China’s largest university with over 70,000 students.
