Update on death of a student

The university flags are being lowered in memory of a first year student who died on campus Monday morning.

The name of the student is not being released, as family members are being notified and an investigation by Kingston Police Service continues.

“This is a shock for all of us and our hearts and thoughts are with the student’s family and friends,” said John Pierce, Associate Vice-Principal and Dean of Student Affairs. “Counselling is being made available to all students, and we encourage anyone who wants to access support services and resources to do so. We are here to help.”

Students can contact Health, Counselling and Disability Services at 613-533-6000 ext. 78264 or come to the LaSalle Building at 146 Stuart Street. After hours, students can call Campus Security 24/7 at 613-533-6080.
