USW Local 2010 ratification vote scheduled
United Steelworkers (USW) Local 2010 will hold information meetings this week and a ratification vote the first and second weeks of August on the first tentative collective agreement reached with the university on July 5.
The information meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 24 in Dunning Hall auditorium from noon to 2 pm and Wednesday, July 25, in the Biosciences auditorium from noon to 2 pm.
Polling stations for the ratification vote will be open as follows:
• Wednesday, August 1 between 8 am and 5 pm in Wallace Hall, JDUC;
• Thursday, August 2 between 8 am and 5 pm in the Biosciences atrium; and,
• Tuesday, August 7 between 8 am and 5 pm Robert Sutherland Hall, room 202.
Details of the agreement will be released publicly after it is ratified by the union membership and the university’s Human Resources Committee of the Board of Trustees.
USW represents approximately 1,100 employees of Queen’s University, General Support Staff (Grades 2-9).
